My
dear Asif,
Hope
you are well by the grace of Almighty Allah. Here I am also fine. I received
your letter yesterday. In your last letter you wanted to know about “the bad effects of smoking and to give
it up”. Now I am telling you about it.
Cigarettes
contain harmful particles of matter which are fatal to man. These deadly
matters are – nicotine, methyl alcohol, carbon monoxide, arsenic, benzopyrene
and several other acids. Nicotine impedes the flow of blood and oxygen in the
body. It causes blood pressure which results in heart attack. Benzopyrene
causes cancer, Bronchitis and other mortal diseases. Smoking cigarette ruins
the vitality of life and hastens death. It also harms the nerves, damages the
brain and sometimes spoils the character. Smoking cigarette is no less than
committing suicide.
I
know that you are very sensible. After knowing these bad effects of smoking, I
hope you and your companion will not smoke or give up smoking from now.
Yours
truly,
Nahida
